Be A Star At First Night Raleigh

First Night Raleigh 2016 is looking for bright singers to lead the crowd into the year 2016. Keeping with the theme of “Celebrating North Carolina Firsts,” First Night Raleigh is searching for the top singers in the Triangle area who will earn first place in the audience’s hearts. If you like to sing, you won’t want to miss the chance to audition for a spot on the Main Stage as part of the Early Countdown at First Night Raleigh on Dec. 31, at 5:00 pm

Auditions to perform on the main stage are open to solo singers of all ages. A total of eight singers will be selected to perform at First Night Raleigh. At least one winner will be selected from each of the below four categories:

  • Child – Elementary Age
  • Middle School
  • High School
  • College/Adult

To audition, contestants must submit a video recording singing the song he or she wishes to perform on New Year’s Eve to FirstNightRaleighStar@Gmail.com by Dec. 23. Songs may be any genre of music the singer chooses. Video submissions must begin with the contestant’s name, contact information, the category for which he or she is applying, and where he or she is from. Additionally, submissions must not exceed three minutes.

Once chosen, performers are required to sing with a pre-recorded accompaniment that they provide. By submitting a tape, the contestant agrees that their video may be posted online or used in other ways to promote First Night Raleigh. The judges will watch the submissions and select a group of semi-finalists who will compete the afternoon of Dec. 30.
