The People’s Procession
Lineup on Edenton Street, North of the State Capitol (Site #7) - 6:00 to 6:30
As the Children's Celebration ends and the evening entertainment begins, mark the passage of time... from afternoon to evening... from old year to new... by taking part in the People's Procession.
It's a parade, but you're invited to participate! The People's Procession is as fundamental to First Night Raleigh as the giant Acorn. Join thousands of your friends and neighbors as you head around the Capitol and down Salisbury Street with Rhea, created by the Paperhand Puppet Intervention. The NC State University Pipes & Drums and YOU will help lead the way!
Lineup starts on Edenton Street beginning at 5:30 and takes off promptly at 6:00. The Procession ends at City Plaza just in time for the Early Countdown on the Main Stage led by Chuck Davis of the African American Dance Ensemble, an early Acorn Drop at 7:00 and fireworks!
