The son of Sierra Leonean parents, LesTheGenius (Leslie Robbin-Coker) was born in Edmonton, London England and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Inspired by other Carolina natives such as J Cole, Mez and 9th Wonder, Les is able to create a unique style focused on socially conscious lyrics enhanced through his rhythmic delivery over genre-fusing tracks drawing from his diverse social background.
Les received his first national break through an unlikely outlet for most musicians, the Raleigh artist landed a spot on former President Barack Obama’s favorite music of 2019 playlist with his hometown anthem “Raleighwood Hills”. Since then, Les has been able to keep up momentum amassing over 3 million streams independently across platforms with his remarkable single runs and performing at notable festivals such as Eno River Festival & Hopscotch Music Festival opening up for Glass Animals, Gunna, Lucky Daye and more.
